Villafrut has chosen to join an important fundraising project aimed at strengthening one of the key institutions of Verona’s economy and culture. With a practical and constructive spirit, in this unique 2021, Fondazione Arena launched the ambitious project:
“67 Colonne for the Arena of Verona”, created in collaboration with the Athesis Group.
The name “67 Colonne” comes from the idea of ideally reconstructing the Arena’s outer ring of arches, destroyed by a terrible earthquake in 1117, through the symbolic embrace of entrepreneurs—and others—united by love for our city, the Arena, and the cultural value it holds in Italy and around the world.
Verona’s mayor, Federico Sboarina, at the project presentation, emphasized:
“Right now, we are experiencing a jolt similar to the disastrous earthquake of 1117. We are in the recovery phase from the economic crisis, and the Arena is the jewel of our city, the international temple of music, Verona’s calling card to the world. This is the historic moment to take action. It is in times of great difficulty that our ability to come together and unite around a common goal emerges. Together, we can virtually rebuild the 67 outer columns of the Arena—an effort that will have a significant impact on the entire territory and on our economy, which is ready to restart quickly.”
Matteo Falzi, CEO of Villafrut srl, took Fondazione Arena’s call for help to heart and decided to concretely support the project, which ensures continuity of the Arena’s opera season—an enduring symbol of our country on the global stage.
Villafrut is an official partner of “67 Colonne.”
