The project <strong>\u201cGEM\u00dcSEFIT \u2013 Kids enJOyLIFE! Nutrition and sustainable food at the Austrian primary school in cooperation with the Vienna University Children\u2019s Office\u201d<\/strong> has come to a close in Vienna.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout April and May, ten educational workshops were held for second, third, and fourth grade students in Viennese primary schools.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA very positive and extraordinary experience,\u201d says Matteo Falzi of Villafrut. \u201cWe created something special. The simplest and most natural qualities of fruits and vegetables are often taken for granted, but children \u2014 especially those living in cities \u2014 rarely get the chance to learn where produce really comes from, how it grows, and how it is cultivated. We brought fruits and vegetables of all kinds right before their eyes to spark their curiosity and give them the chance to experience them up close.
