Its goal is to create a single standard of Good Agricultural Practices (G.A.P.) with different product applications, capable of meeting the needs of global agriculture.<\/li>\n<li><strong>GRASP (GLOBAL G.A.P. Risk Assessment on Social Practice)<\/strong> integrates worker health and safety, focusing on basic indicators for evaluating social risks in agricultural companies. It can only be applied to companies already certified with I.F.A.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>One of the most important and exclusive certifications Villafrut obtained years ago for its environmental commitment:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>SA 8000<\/strong> \u2013 <em>Social Accountability 8000<\/em> is the first international standard that ensures an organization is socially responsible, meaning it is committed to respecting labor ethics and explicitly rejects all forms of inhumane working conditions, exploitation, unfair pay, and unhealthy workplaces.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other projects and programs include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Pro Planet \u2013 Rewe Austria Project \u2013 2015<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Global 2000 \u2013 P.R.P. \u2013 Pesticide Reduction Program since 2005<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"western\">The 3 Leitmotifs that define our concept of ECO:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Ecology, Economy, Social Responsibility<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"western\">In practical terms, our interpretation of sustainability is:<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Ecological:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Field books:<\/em> used to determine and limit the use of all treatment substances for our products.<\/li>\n<li><em>Drip irrigation<\/em> where cultivation allows.<\/li>\n<li>Use of <em>eco-sustainable cardboard packaging:<\/em> we already use and are developing recycled paper packaging.<\/li>\n<li>Limiting packaging (like trays or overwrapping) where possible, replacing it with <em>Flow-Pack only<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Use of <em>reusable secondary plastic packaging<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>Use of <em>interchangeable EUR pallets<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Economic:<\/strong><br \/>\nAs in all sectors, the economy is crucial for the population and for safe economic and social growth. It\u2019s right to say\u2014and not taken for granted\u2014that just like any head of a family, farmers should and must earn enough to invest and support the families who work for a living. For years now, through both mindset and professional ethics, we have developed long-term and fruitful relationships with our partners. This allows us to ensure what we described earlier: a healthy business where all sectors in the supply chain can earn through their work.<\/p>\n<p>An opportunistic or speculative approach does not lead to development\u2014in fact, the opposite. Speculation doesn\u2019t mean saving money; it means exploiting purchase opportunities, which is damaging to the economy. This should not be confused with competitiveness, which is instead essential for keeping up with markets and their demands.<\/p>\n<p>For consumers, economy means cost savings, and the first saving is a simplified purchase. We deal with essential food products, so we must guarantee prices that are not speculative or so high as to be unreachable for our end consumers.<\/p>\n<p>Savings also come from eliminating packaging types that are unnecessary or not required due to product characteristics.
